The Colosseum is an oval amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. It is built of travertine limestone, tuff (volcanic rock), and brick-faced concrete.

It was the largest amphitheatre ever built at the time. The Colosseum is located in the east of the Roman Forum. Its construction began with the emperor Vespasian in 72 AD and was completed in 80 AD by his successor Titus. Further modifications were made during the reign of Domitian (81–96 AD).

HERODEION

The conservatory of Herod Atticus is an ancient conservatory of the Roman period in the south-west of Acropolis. Its construction was finished at 161 AC but it was demolished after 106 years in 267 AC. Finally the conservatory was rebuilt in 1950.

PANTHEON

Pantheon is a former Roman temple, now a church, in Rome. It is the largest temple in Italy. It was completed by the emperor Hadrian probably about 126 AD.

THE ROMAN BRIDGE

The Roman Bridge Of Cordoba is situated in the historic centre of Cordoba. It was built by the Romans and it has been reconstructed various times. The present structure dates from the Moorish reconstruction in the 8th century. It has 16 arcades and a total length of 247 metres.

“Casa Romana di Vespaia Polla” is a Roman archeological museum, that was built around the 1st century AD. It was found by a famous archeologist called Giuseppe Sordini in 1885-1886.

   This is building is located in Spoletto, Umbria. It belonged to Vespasia Polla, mother of the emperor Titus Flavius Vespasianus and it is of great importance too because of the state it was found, which was remarkably new.

ROMAN MOSAICS IN THE HOUSE OF DIONYSUS

Four roman villas were accidentally discovered in a field  in 1962  and many  ancient floor  mosaics were found  representing scenes from Greek and Roman life ; they are considered among the most beautiful in the world .
