During the Erasmus we became united. When all the kids from other countries came, we were really anxious. But we soon felt happy and came close to our hosts. Furthermore, while seeing the sights in Todi we were really satisfied. We were curious about the streets in Todi. In the end we are happy about this trip.

We did a lot of activities. We went to Rome, we saw the giant “Colosseum”, the strange and beautiful “Pantheon”. We did debate, a treasure hunt, we discuss and we argued. We ate a lot of tasty dishes. We heard new music and attended a lecture on Roman citizenship. Lastly, no one will forget the fun we had together ice-skating and playing with the snow.

During this week, we’ve realized that there are many differences between the countries in some aspects. For example, Greeks and Cypriots talk loudly, Italians and Spanish fast, Portuguese slow. Italians move their hand a lot and they eat a lot when Greeks and Cypriots are very loud and Spanish dance a lot and are very energetic along with the Portuguese. However, everyone is excited and happy and we are trying to have fun. But mainly we focus more on what we have in common than what is separating us.

In conclusion, we thought that Erasmus was awesome and totally worth it. We had a lot of fun and we learned about other cultures. We are more than happy to be a part of this programme. Don’t cry because it ended, smile because it happened.

The Erasmus+ is a students exchange program with other European countries. Its purpose is to know the different cultures around Europe. At first before we arrived we had a feeling of fear for the unknown. However, at the same time we were also excited for the trip. As soon as we arrived in Todi, Italy and met our hosts the feeling of fear disappeared and a feeling of happiness divided us. Later on, when the activities had begun and each of us started to built their ownd friendships with the other students of the programme. The stress wasn’t a problem anymore and we were ourselves and everything was perfect.

To start, in Sunday afternoon the guys from Cyprus, Portugal, Spain and Greece arrived in Italy and they met with their Italian correspondents. They met the families who they hospit and went out all together. The day after the students and their teachers presented our schools and then they visited the school and Todi. On Tuesday, the Italians and their hosts went to Rome and visited the Colosseum, the Pantheon, Imperial Forums and Saint Angelo Castle. In the evening of the same day we stayed all together at Todi and went to ice skating. On Wednesday an university teacher has done a lesson on the ancients and after we ate some Roman Foods that Italian Guys made and bring. In the afternoon we all together have done a treasure hunt for the ancient places in Todi. Thursday morning we did a debate on the use off new technologies in class. After the Italian guys of 3rd year school and the people from the other countries went to Spoleto. They visited the Cathedral, the Roman aquaduct, Albornoziama fortress and in the evening all together went to restaurant for celebrate Dafni’s birthday. On Friday the guys talk about the Romans in their countries and after they wrote an article that talk about their experiences in Italy. In the evening the Italian group prepared a party for greet their correspondents. Saturday morning they return to their countries.

In this journey, we have discovered that mediterranien cultures are very similar because of the Romans influenced. Although there are some differences as every country is different from one another. Firstly, Greece and Cyprus share the same language in comparison with Italians, Portuguese and Spanish who have an absolutely different language. Moreover, Greece and Cyprus have quite the same traditional dishes than the rest of the countries. Moreover, we have discovered that the weather in Cyprus is warmer than the weather of Italy, Spain, Greece and Portugal. Another difference are the tradition and the music in each country. As we saw from the presentations the Romans had influence in all Mediterranean countries.

To sum up with it was an amazing experience full of wonderful moments. We believe that each of the people we met had something different to teach us. We hope that we had a time machine to return the time back and experience this special week from the beginning. Thanks for everything.

In this Erasmus+ meeting we dealt with the historic events during the Roman domination that affected every region in the European continent. During this week, we met students from different countries and developed strong relations among us. Those relations were based on cooperation and willingness for hard work. The enthusiasm of students to gain new experiences, also led us in giving the highest percentage of our abilities, while having fun and entertaining ourselves. Moreover, we became interested in learning about ancient history, forming curiosity for other European civilizations. The greatest of all was the fact that we acquired specific social skills which helped us to communicate with each other, more fluently, and improved us as individuals in general.

In this week we had a lot of interesting activities all together; we visited the most important monuments of Todi, Spoleto and Rome.

During the trip to Rome we saw many monuments  like: the Pantheon, the Imperial Forum, the bridges on the river Tiber with their awsome view of the city and, at the end, we visited the Colosseum that, was the most suggestive for us. On Thursday we went to Spoleto for to have a tour of the Roman and Longobard remains in the city; we started by a tour guide visit of a Roman “Domus”, which was very important for us to understand the habits of the Roman’s patricians; after we walked through a green way to reach the ancient aqueduct that, in our time, is used by the people to commit suicide, in fact this monument is called “the bridge of suicides”; for last we visited also the “Rocca Albornoziana” that was a fort built after the Pope’s return in Rome from Avignone. The first day we had a tour of Todi, starting with the “temple of Consolazione” that was really impressive for its size; we continued with the visit of the “Episcopal palace”, “San Fortunato church” and the Cathedral near the episcopal palace. In Todi, except from the monuments we played the treasure hunt around the city and its particular things like the thearme, theater and “Nicchioni”; at school, to conclude, we tasted Roman dishes prepared by the Italian guys and we joined musical presentations organized by the Italians.

To start with, there are a lot of different ways of life; for example, the houses in which we lived don’t have similar customs with ours. We also have different kinds of food and we like different types of music… The music from Greece is very different from the Spanish and Italian music, that are very similar; in Italy the way of life is more expensive than in Portugal, but also, there are similarities, all the people here wear similar clothes and are open minded. Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, share some words and Greek and Cypriots speak, more or less, the same language. So our mediterranean countries might have some cultural differences, however the similarities are also numerous.

All in all, the Erasmus+ experience in Todi was immense. It’s true that we will never forget the happy moments in Todi square, our trip in Rome and the time spent in the classroom aswell. It was a week full of learning, new tastes and laughing and for that it is with great sadness that we will leave Todi, however the happy memories will stay with us forever.
