We were all looking forward to this last meeting of our Erasmus programme. We knew most of the kids from the other countries and most of us were going to host kids that hosted us during other meetings. We were so excited!

Unfortunately, a few weeks before the meeting our Italian friends announced that were not going to come to Cyprus because of the coronavirus pandemic. The same happened to with our Greek friends only a few days before the meeting. We realised that this meeting was not going to be the same as our previous meetings. Despite our disappointment and sadness we still tried to make the best for the rest kids that were coming.

On the first day we had a tour around the school and our presentations. Because it was not the first time we met with the kids we immediately felt very close to each other and comfortable. On the second day we had long tour around the town, sightseeing and enjoying the nice weather and the company of each other. We had a great time with the Spanish and Portuguese!

The third day was the worst day of the whole programme during these two years. Early in the morning Spanish teachers announced to their kids and to all of us that due to the coronavirus pandemic they had to leave as soon as possible from our country. When the kids realised that they had to leave they started crying and the same happened to us that we were hosting them. It was so difficult for all of us and we felt anger about this. We had to say goodbye to our friends that had to leave on the third day of the meeting.

On the same day we went sightseeing on the suburbs of Pafos with the Portuguese but the atmosphere was not the same. We were all so sad, angry and scared as well because of the coronavirus pandemic.

On the fourth day Portuguese team announced us that they were going to leave as well on the morning of the next day. We continued our revised programme but with the fear of the pandemic to be around all of us. We also said goodbye to our Portuguese friends earlier that were supposed to say.

Nobody could imagine that this last meeting, that we were all looking forward to, could have such a bad ending. As soon as our friends left, after 3 days we had the lockdown to our country, as all the participant countries had.
